The Smith Family has commissioned you to design an addition to their house on the shore of Long Island Sound. The original house, designed in 1965 by architect Richard Meier, has been widely published and is internationally known. Unfortunately, the Owners needs have change since the original design, thereby warranting this architectural intervention. The Owner specifically request that the integrity of the original design be respected, yet the new addition should have its own presence.
CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS
NARRATIVE:
Jack and diane have recently bought the smith house they want to add an addition. Their big movie buffs and often entertain guests with movie nights. The couple would like a home theater added to the house, along with an indoor outdoor space to entertain their guests. They would like to add deck to make use of the coastal view. Primarily they would like a bigger Master Bedroom with Master Bath and walk-in-closet. Along with an additional guest room and an exercise room.
